Customer profiles and management

Semel CF software is part of a travel management system that manages customer profiles, creates travel entitlements, payment identifiers and cards.

The passenger's travel rights are based on a customer profile, which defines, among other things, travel amounts, deductibles, the right to travel alone, permitted additional payments and whether the passenger has the right to an escort. The passenger's travel rights are managed in a versatile way and can be defined individually. The subscriber manages the travel rights completely as an electronic service, using a web user interface. The visibility of the user interface can be limited by municipality and law at the user level. The operator's intermediary always has a real-time view of the passenger's travel balance.

The passenger can verify the travel entitlement with a travel card, but the system also allows travel without a travel card, in which case the travel entitlement is confirmed by the intermediary center at the order stage.
The electronic travel entitlement management system enables decisions, changes and updates to take effect immediately without the delay of delivering travel cards.

Contact is a reliable dispaching system that allows the call center to comprehensively manage the forwarding of various orders to vehicles. With the help of the system, you can efficiently control service traffic, contract and taxi traffic, and efficiently combine trips with each other.

Semel Contact as a trip management system

The Semel ride-hailing system can be flexibly supplemented into a travel management system by adding customer profile processing software, thus achieving a complete system for managing and directing, for example, transportation paid for by society.  

An essential part of the Semel trip management and trip combination system is the special features related to passenger identification and travel rights, which are called customer profiles. Passenger-specific travel rights and other rights and obligations related to travel are defined in passenger-specific decisions, for example, based on the Social Welfare or Disability Services Act. When the system is implemented, customer profiles can be transferred to the system as existing decisions, for example using an Excel spreadsheet.

After the system is implemented, customer profiles and travel rights are managed using web-based software on a customer-specific basis as decisions are made.

In a trip management system, costs per passenger can be determined either by background calculations or by using the taximeter in the vehicle.

Semel Contact in socially paid transportation

The direct reimbursement procedure applies to trips made by insured persons in Finland due to illness, pregnancy or rehabilitation arranged by Kela, which are ordered from a taxi booking centre. If the customer orders a taxi from somewhere other than a taxi booking centre providing direct reimbursement services, the customer pays the entire price of the taxi trip themselves and applies for reimbursement from Kela afterwards, together with the necessary attachments. These trips are not included in the direct reimbursement procedure and direct reimbursement is therefore not mandatory for customers.

In the direct reimbursement procedure, customers order taxi trips reimbursed by Kela from a single order center throughout the hospital district. In this case, basic information about the person and the trip is generated in electronic form when ordering. The system combines the trips that can be combined, each one-way trip is identified by an order ID created by the order center. The car's payment information is generated by the taximeter and the trip-specific order ID is added to it. At the order center, the order and payment information is combined, creating the same information electronically as that submitted to Kela on forms in the proxy procedure. The combined information is delivered to Kela's front-end server for processing the travel reimbursement.
